

Sometimes the materials that are used to make the quilt tell a story – using favorite t-shirts, ties, even jewelry or toys! Sometimes instead of a design, the quilt looks like a picture – sometimes it really is a picture printed on the fabric, sometimes it’s painted on, and sometimes the fabric is cut into pieces that make a picture. Sometimes the story is in the pattern that the fabric makes when it is all sewn together – the design can mean friendship or wedding rings or log cabins. Quilts have a long history of telling stories.
